APPROACH TO CARE
My approach to care is both personalized and thorough. While psychiatric symptoms are important to assess, I recognize true healing in improvements in one's quality of life, sense of peace, empowerment, and functional abilities.
My medical training allows me to thoughtfully evaluate how neurological, medical, and pharmacological factors may impact mental health. I assess the use of medications with caution and respect the potential negative impacts pharmaceuticals may have when not utilized collaboratively and with clear cause. All told, I do not consider myself "a prescriber" and utilize medications while supporting important behavioral changes.
Over the years, I’ve developed a deeper ability to distinguish between pathological symptoms and the painful—but-often-natural—emotional responses to life’s challenges. I approach this work with humility and nuance.
Collaboration is essential when providing comprehensive and good psychiatric care. I welcome working alongside your trusted loved ones, healthcare providers, therapists, or healers of any kind. I hold deep respect for both Eastern and Western medicine, as well as the vital role that therapy plays in healing. Together, we can create a comprehensive, integrative approach that supports your unique journey toward wellness.
Finally, my disillusionment with aspects of the healthcare system fuels my commitment to patient advocacy. Access to thoughtful, compassionate, and informed care is essential, and I strive to help my patients navigate the system with clarity and support.

I am not equipped to manage psychiatric conditions requiring frequent urgent care or around-the-clock accessibility. Care for moderate to severe addiction or eating disorders may be best at specialized clinics with multidisciplinary teams and more comprehensive support.
For individuals with a prior diagnosis of ADHD (especially those diagnosed in adulthood), I may perform a reassessment before continuing treatment.
I do not conduct psychiatric evaluations for purposes other than mental health treatment. This includes evaluations for employment, school, legal proceedings, disability benefits, or medical clearance.
SERVICES
Diagnostic Assessment or Consultation (60–90 minutes · 1–3 sessions)
A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation allows me to get to know you as a whole person. During this process, I’ll gather information from you, and—if appropriate—from key providers or supports in your life. We’ll assess for relevant psychiatric diagnoses, and I may request additional records or labs as needed.
After the assessment, I’ll share my diagnostic impressions and a proposed plan of care. We’ll also discuss whether I’m the right fit to continue working with you. If not, I’ll provide a written summary of our work together, along with clear recommendations to share with your primary care provider or future clinicians.
Medication Management (30 minutes)
These follow-up appointments focus on reviewing your current medications and treatment goals. We’ll address any side effects, adjust prescriptions if needed, and ensure refills are up to date. If changes are recommended, we’ll go over the risks, benefits, and alternatives (informed consent).
Psychotherapy (30–60 minutes)
Following our initial sessions, we’ll identify your treatment goals and determine which therapeutic approaches are the best fit. My work draws on several modalities, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, liberation psychology, and motivational interviewing. Therapy is always collaborative, grounded in respect, and tailored to your unique needs.
Combined Medication Management & Psychotherapy (60 minutes)
These sessions integrate medication management with psychotherapy. We’ll begin by reviewing your current medications and treatment goals, then devote the remainder of the time to therapeutic work.
Clinical Supervision (60 minutes)
With over a decade of experience supervising psychiatry trainees and providing consultation to medical professionals, I deeply value supporting the growth of fellow clinicians. These sessions focus on reflective practice and clinical development. All patient information must be fully de-identified, as I am not legally or formally involved in the care being discussed.
